The Sam Tell Companies were awarded the foodservice replacement and renovation contract for the work performed at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.
The project itself was challenging in that $80MM of renovation work was scheduled to be completed in approximately 130-days. A best value approach was taken for subcontractor selection and the bidding field was limited due to the high risk viewed in completing the work on time and on budget.
Arthur Fisher was the first person I met from The Sam Tell Companies and after our initial meeting I knew we had selected the right vendor to complete the work. His organizational and leadership skills were showcased each day onsite. When any issue arose, he would always produce solutions and provided me with the best options achievable in the timeframe available.

We completed a $60 million renovation in 2017, which represented the most significant capital improvement project in the facility’s 24-year history in anticipation of hosting the 2018 NCAA Final Four Basketball Championship. The goal was to provide the facility with the amenities comparable and competitive with other sports venues and stadiums across the country.
As part of these improvements we upgraded the east and west concourses to give more circulation spaces and more attractive and inviting food and beverage options to our visitors.
Turner Construction was our manager and they selected The Sam Tell Companies to be the Foodservice Equipment contractor. The scope of work included a new beer distribution service, food preparation kitchens and 36 all new concession stands.
The Sam Tell Companies met the challenge of an escalated schedule and difficult working conditions. In total, we built (36) concession stands within the predetermined time frame and within the cost parameters provided.
To be clear, The Sam Tell Companies did an exemplary job and we cannot be more pleased with the final product."
